We also had some really fun things contributed to our community canvas this year! It turned out really great, and we always have some very beautiful, intriguing, quirky, and fun bits of painting on the canvas. Even though there were lots of great portions on it by the end of the night, I've got to say that I was especially tickled by the Nicholas Cage face, Samuel L. Jackson face, and Salvador Dali face that Natasha painted up there. You could spend quite some time looking at all of the things on this canvas, and it truly is a collaboration of the community. It's looking even more interesting since I set a few clients loose on it today to help fill in the remaining blank spaces... pictures to come...
We had so much fun at our Anniversary Gala/Gallery Stroll this last Friday!!! We had a great time, and we had a really nice turnout. It was fun to not only see lots of people come, but also to see people staying and enjoying themselves! Just when I would think that things had died down a bit, I would wander into the short films room or the silent auction room, and find big groups of people that I didn't even realize were still in our space! We didn't have many heated bidding wars as in years past, so things stayed fairly genial and pleasant in the Silent Auction room. Even with the lack of competitive bidding, we still made about $500 of profit off of our auction! We also had some really fun things contributed to our community canvas this year! A big thank you to the Disgusting Brothers for being so willing to donate their time and talents to add some rock and roll to our little soiree (and man, were they rocking!). Also, a big thank you goes out to Trader Joe's, Sweet Tooth Fairy, and Ruby Snap, for their food donations that served as refreshments at our event. Lastly, a big thank you to those of you that came to our event and supported us with your presence, willingness to bid on items, and willingness to create with us!
