We had so much fun having an early Halloween celebration today! We started off by learning a little bit about Picasso, and then making our own "Picasso-style" monsters! We had tons of fun playing around with perspective, and our monster portraits turned out great! After finishing these fun monsters, we stole an idea from our wonderful Artist in Residence form Art access, Kathleen Mason, and did some Halloween Shadow Theater. We had so much fun making our shadows dance, pretending to be witches and monsters, and just plain partying! Thanks for the idea Kathleen! It was a hit! It was an exhausting, but fun-filled day! The exhaustion hadn't quite hit by the time everyone left because we were all on just a little bit of a sugar high- I'm sure we'll all crash later :) Happy Halloween from all of us here at TURN CCA!

You guys. It's been so long since our last post, and that is totally on me! We've been keeping busy, as usual. Man, sometimes being so awesome can wear you out! We've been getting ready to submit a few pieces to a few upcoming shows, which is always exciting. Once it's a done deal, I'll let you guys know the details :) Something exciting that is still in the conception stage (but I have decided is happening)- TURN City Center for the Arts is going to be making calendars!!! I'm really excited, and have been pulling together and touching up various pieces to use for the calendars. We want to make sure that each person's art is featured, so we will probably have two different calendars. As I get more of this figured out, I'll send out an email with prices, deadlines, and other pertinent information. I hope you guys are as excited as I am about this!!! Here's just a taste of the kind of artwork to expect from our calendar! We won't necessarily be choosing these particular pieces, but this is the caliber of work we'll be putting in, so get excited!
