Jon has been painting for a very long time. In addition to being a painter, he considers himself to be a “drummer at heart,” writes incredible essays about his beliefs and life, and uses his wit to create hilarious collages with enough hidden meanings to keep you amused all day long. Jon uses a paint brush attached to a wooden spoon to paint. Before coming to CCA, Jon had not attempted coloring, ceramics, or collage. In the few months that Jon has been here, he has gained incredible control over his paint brush and coloring mediums. When he first started here, we used tape and stencils for his paintings. This way, he was able to complete is paintings to the high standards that he has for his work. The piece Jon is working on is a part of a large group piece based on Andy Warhol’s Marilyn. Jon has been coloring, and PAINTING, inside the lines—all on his own!
Of course, we have many more amazing people that join us here at CCA. I’ll be filling you in on them over time. I don’t want to overwhelm you with all of their wonderful stories in one day!
