Today we had a new volunteer, John, come in and show us how to do a new painting technique. He brought a friend, Julie, to help out, and we had so much fun! The technique John showed us utilized a combination of drip painting, and using a paint roller to replicate the drips at diminishing intensity with each roll.
We used the colors of house paints that we had on hand, and luckily the colors looked really cool together! We had this project planned out as a large group piece, so we had prepped a large canvas, and one of our large foam boards. Before we worked on them though, we got plenty of practice using the technique on some cardboard.
After we had had plenty of practice came the moment of truth- to start dripping the paint on the canvas itself. Chris did the honors, and then we all took turns from there.
It took a few people a bit to get a hang of the rolling technique, but once they did, we ended up with some amazing art!
