On Wednesday night we had another film screening! I had posted earlier this week about it, and also that there was a possibility that our film would not be shown if there were too many submissions. There were too many submissions, so they had to do a lottery to choose which films were shown at the screening. And... as luck would have it, ours was chosen! Our film, "I Can," featuring Jon Westling, Katie Felgar, and Bill Barrows, was the third film shown in the evening. The theme of the short documentary competition through KUER Video West was "The Body is a Temple." For our documentary, we chose to focus on how those with physical disabilities and limitations have things they can do well with their bodies, and that they have full lives to live regardless of their limitations. Given what our program does, there was of course an emphasis on art and what we create here. The strangers sitting near me had very positive things to say about our film after it ended, and I'd like to think that it had a positive impact on other audience members that were there. Although we did not win the Jury award (sad face), there's still hope that we may get the audience choice award. Our film "I Can" will be available to watch at our Gallery Stroll tonight! So come check us out!
