Alright, so we have had a change in date to our performance showcase this year! I am so sorry to those of you that may have made arrangements already for the 29th, but due to a conflict with another event happening that day, the showcase will now be on Thursday, April 5th, at 10:00 am. Please email me to RSVP if you'll be there: [email protected]

So remember when we had a series of articles on the Deseret News site that featured our program, along with a few others similar to ours in the valley? Well, they've been printing them in the Sunday paper! Two of the three articles have been published, (on the front page of the arts section!), and the third and final installment will be printed in this Sunday's paper in the arts section (on March 25th). So exciting! Make sure to check it out! If you can't get your hands on the physical papers, here are the links to the articles on their site:
https://www.deseretnews.com/article/900005061/ability-through-the-arts-disabled-adults-find-creative-expression-in-local-programs.html https://www.deseretnews.com/article/900005506/ability-through-the-arts-singing-at-the-top-of-their-lungs-disabled-adults-speak-through-the-arts.html And here's the link for the one that will be printed on Sunday- but see if you can get your hands on the paper! https://www.deseretnews.com/article/900005834/ability-through-the-arts-being-around-so-much-creativity-its-kind-of-infectious.html So first and foremost, gallery stroll is this week! We're showing off a lot of mixed media collages this month, including several Olympic-themed ones that you do not want to miss- they're amazing! Also, I wanted to tell you something very exciting about this particular downtown gallery stroll- our very own Tyler Pierce is showing some artwork in the exhibit over at the Urban Arts Gallery!!! We are so stoked for him to be showing his work in a gallery that very much fits his style. If you have a chance see if you can pop over there too! It's not too far from us, so you could even hit both our gallery and Urban Arts tomorrow night!
The other exciting thing we have coming up, is our annual performance showcase! It will be taking place on Thursday, March 29th this year. We had our first practice for it today, and even thought there are some things we need to polish over the next few weeks, it is going to be a fantastic show! Well have some great musical theater pieces, fun songs, hilarious skits, awesome dancing, and of course, the ever popular Hapkido demonstration. Mark your calendars now- March 29th at 10:00 am! Also, please RSVP to [email protected] telling me how many are coming so that we know how many to plan for :) |
