We went to a picnic today! Each year, The United Way has a day of caring, and they send some volunteers to help out with TURN's annual picnic for our day training centers. We had lots of games to play, prizes to win, and friends to see! All around it was a great time! Oh, and on top of all that, free food! You really can't beat that. A big thank you goes out to The United Way for helping out with this picnic each year- our clients absolutely love it! Also, thank you to all the TURN employees who devoted so much time to help us have a great day today- I can tell you a lot of time and planning goes into an event like this.
After we got back to the program, we were all a little tuckered out, but that doesn't stop the artists at TURN City Center for the Arts! We still spent the afternoon creating! We made jewelry, did some spin art, played the organ, drew, and so much more. What a busy and dedicated bunch we have here! I hope you guys are sending out the month as grandly as we are!
Hey all! I just wanted to do a quick post to let you guys know what exciting things we have coming up soon. First of all, we will have some clients entering pieces into the Utah State Fair again this year. We should have 18 pieces in the Fair, unless there's so many entries they end up having to Jury it. You should all definitely come check it out! The Utah State Fair is September 8-18.
The other very exciting thing that is happening, is we will have a booth of our very own in the Urban Arts Festival this year!!! The Urban Arts Festival is a free arts festival that will be held at the Gallivan Center on September 17-18. We are beyond stoked to have this great opportunity for people to see our clients' artwork, and for people to just know we exist in general! We are a little overwhelmed with all the work that this entails, but as of right now we're having a good time with all the preparations. We hope you'll all be able to stop by our booth during the festival!
