Halloween!!! Man did we have a fun Halloween here! First of all, can I say how much fun it is to watch everyone get off the bus in the morning and see what they dressed up as? So much fun!!! We had some fun Halloween activities throughout the morning, and we had a blast. The entire morning, we had some people working on a haunted house, that we were making as a group.
We painted the sides of the house, drew different characters to go inside it, painted some skeletons to go on and around it, and also made a cemetery to go alongside it. It was quite the undertaking!
We also had a creepy loopy music drawing class. For those of you don't know about loopy, it's an awesome app that lets you record sound or music, and then will replay what you just did while you record new sounds on top of the previous tracks. It's a cool way to record lots of different music parts, speaking, or sounds and mashing them together to make one complicated track! For our class, we had everyone contribute to our creepy Halloween recording, and then once all 6 tracks were full and playing back, we would listen to our creepy creation while letting it inspire our drawing. We had some really fun musical creations, and some really eerie sounds!
We had some healthy snacks in the afternoon to offset some of the sugary stuff that people had brought in, and they were eating it up (bad pun, I know)!
Lots of fun was had, and it a was a great Halloween!!! Everyone enjoyed showing off their costumes and getting into their characters. Just look at how great everyone looked!
Another exciting thing that happened this week, is we got back all the awards from the Sandy Visual Art Show! I had mentioned in our last blog entry that we won some awards, but now we actually have them! In addition to the 1st place, 5th place, and Honorable Mention ribbons, everyone else also was given an Award of Merit! Here everyone is with their spoils!
